Yud-Hay-Vav-Hay / YMCA Video Registration

Let's face it. The last two years have been difficult. But as we move toward the spring and the end of the health restrictions, it's time to get into the spirit, silliness and fun of Purim!

We're putting together a Purim parody video and are looking to you to lend your voices, acting talents and video skills—or lack thereof—to "Yud-Hay-Vav-Hay", Cantor Ezer’s hilarious reworking of “YMCA” by The Village People! And with the skills of our in-house, Grammy-worthy production team, we'll piece together clips from your video submissions to create a Purim parody video that would make 'Weird Al' proud.

We'll supply the song sheets; you provide the footage of you, your family or your crew belting out your rendition of The Village People’s classic. You can sing the whole song or just focus on the parts you know (and love) best, and after you’ve learned your part, record yourself on your smartphone or laptop. (You can play Cantor Ezer’s recording on a separate device while recording your own.)

Need a little more hands-on help with the technical side? join us in person on Wednesday, February 16 between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. when our production team is available to record you in our production studio.

Our "Yud-Hay-Vav-Hay" video will be released on all Beth Tzedec channels—Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, beth-tzedec.org—a few days before Purim. Video submissions must be received by Friday, February 18 at 6:00 p.m

And it’s for Purim, people. Get in costume, get silly, get dancing and have fun!
