Family Chesed Day at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park

Sunday, May 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park, 5822 Bathurst St.

Join us for this special experience for families with children of all ages at a cemetery.

It’s important for children to experience a cemetery before they are mourners themselves to alleviate their misgivings. It’s also a great way to teach kids the Jewish concept of “chesed shel emet” the truest form of lovingkindness—because there’s no chance of reciprocation.

Families will participate in all kinds of activities to help maintain the cemetery, learn how to read a Jewish tombstone, proper etiquette and Jewish ceremony customs. There will be a chance to visit the graves of family members.
