A Heart of Many Rooms: The Visions of Rabbi David Hartman
with Rabbi Baruch Frydman-Kohl

David Hartman was an American-Canadian rabbi and professor who became an Israeli thought leader and founder of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. He reinvigorated Jewish thought by emphasizing the religious significance of the birth of the State of Israel, building intellectual bridges between Israeli and Diaspora Jews, celebrating the religious and cultural diversity of modern life, and advocating for a pluralistic Israeli society. Hartman’s teaching and writing brought classical texts and contemporary challenges into a rich conversation within Judaism and in dialogue with other faith traditions.

Join Rabbi Baruch Frydman-Kohl, one of Rabbi Hartman’s students, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his death, as he leads this four-part spring seminar series.

Rav Baruch is a Rabbinic Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute.
