Remembering Cantor Morris Soberman

Cantor Soberman influenced generations of Beth Tzedec members as the Ba’al Koreh and Hazzan Sheini for over 35 years, during which he taught over 2,800 Bar and Bat Mitzvah students. Decades later, many members of our community still find themselves humming the melodies he loved and taught so well.

As a celebration of his legacy, Beth Tzedec is collecting stories, memories and photos of the late cantor to add to our archives and share with the community. Please tell us about the impact Cantor Soberman had on you and your ability to lead a meaningful Jewish life.

If you select "No", we will still add your memories to the Beth Tzedec Archive, but we will not share them with the wider community.

We are able to share Searching for My Voice on-demand at no charge thanks to the generous contributions and support of those who remember Cantor Soberman fondly. One of his greatest legacies was teaching an entire generation of Bar and Bat Mitzvah students at Beth Tzedec.
