Come and join “Chug Ivrit”, a group of enthusiastic Hebrew speakers looking for an opportunity to meet once a month for an hour or two of socializing, learning from Israeli sources, and practising the language we love – hakol b’ivrit…

This is not a Hebrew class! There is no teacher and no final exam! Instead, it’s an opportunity to immerse ourselves in Hebrew – just for fun - focusing on using social media posts in Hebrew, Hebrew TV clips, and song lyrics to add focus to the meetings. Our Shinshinim (and other Hebrew speakers) will also be invited as guests. Of course, there will be café v’uga (v’lifamim beera).

Members will be encouraged to communicate in Hebrew between meetings through a private WhatsApp group (sharing interesting Hebrew posts, jokes, Israel travel tips…).

We would meet in person once every four weeks, on a Thursday evening starting at 8:00pm for 1 ½ hours. The first meeting would be at Beth Tzedec but the group could also decide to move it to private homes.

You don’t need to be a native Hebrew speaker to participate – you just need to be able to carry on a conversation, and not be afraid of making mistakes and of trying to decode Hebrew Instagram posts for the group!
