A Musical Tradition: Continuing and Celebrating the Musical Legacy of Cantor Morris Soberman
Please verify reCaptcha before submitting the form.
Thursday, April 1 at 7:45 p.m.
Join us in celebrating the musical legacy and tradition of the Soberman family as we sit down with Allan Soberman to discuss his show,
Searching for My Voice
, and the experience of growing up as the son of Beth Tzedec's beloved Cantor Morris Soberman.
Searching for My Voice
, a one-person show written and performed by Allan Soberman,
will be available on-demand from BT All Access beginning in mid-March. The show features melodies Allan learned as a child as the “cantor’s son” and traces his personal journey as a performer and music producer to find his own voice.
Cantor Soberman influenced generations of Beth Tzedec members as the
Ba’al Koreh
and
H
azzan
Sheini
for over 35 years, during which he taught over 2,800 Bar and Bat Mitzvah students. Decades later, many members of our community still find themselves humming the melodies he loved and taught so well.
